Building TezAds at NIC Islamabad — Cohort 5

I build AI that runs
where the compute isn't.

Founder and CEO of TezAds, autonomous ad infrastructure for Pakistani small businesses. Two accepted papers on compressing deep models small enough to run on the hardware people actually own. Computer Science at FAST NUCES. Islamabad, Pakistan.

Muhammad Abdul Majeed
The through-line

Most AI assumes abundance. I keep ending up on the other side of that assumption.

Modern models are built for people with spare compute, spare budget and spare bandwidth. A very large number of people have none of those, and they are not a rounding error — they are most of the world.

So my research is about compression. A crop-disease model at 1.6 MB that diagnoses offline on a farmer's phone. A classifier distilled down to a fraction of its teacher's compute without giving up its accuracy. And my company is the same instinct pointed at a different layer: giving a shop owner in Lahore the ad operations of someone paying an agency Rs 60,000 a month.

Same problem, one level up. Intelligence should work where the resources aren't.

What I'm building

TezAds — an autonomous AI marketing partner for Pakistani SMEs.

You tell it what you sell and what you want. It writes the creative, builds the targeting, launches across Meta, Google, TikTok and X, then adjusts bids and budgets around the clock without anyone asking it to.

The Western tools don't fit this market. They assume card payments, when most orders here are cash on delivery and half the reported ROAS evaporates at the door. They assume the conversion lands on your website, when it actually happens in a WhatsApp thread the pixel never sees. They assume ad copy is written in one language. We're building for the market where all of that is the normal case, not the edge case.

It started as a final-year project at FAST called VoxCommerce. It's now incubated at NIC Islamabad, Cohort 5, run as a concierge service for local businesses while we watch every decision the AI makes — with self-serve access opening up shortly.

Two accepted papers, both on the same idea: make it small enough to actually run.

ICIT 2026 · IEEE

Lightweight Deep Models for Efficient Crop Disease Detection on Resource-Constrained Devices

Benchmarked five lightweight architectures for on-device crop diagnosis. MobileNetV3-S reached 99.94% accuracy at 12× the inference speed of ResNet-50, and a ShuffleNetV2 variant came in at 1.6 MB — 60× smaller than standard baselines with almost no accuracy traded away. Presented; proceedings pending IEEE publication.

Lightweight Knowledge Distillation for Multi-label Code Comment Classification

Distilled a CodeBERT model into a lightweight MiniLM student, producing a fast multi-label classifier that scored 0.74 at a fraction of the compute. Cut GFLOPs and runtime significantly across Java, Python and Pharo using logit distillation and a two-stage training pipeline. Accepted and in production.

TezKaam

A free project management tool. We built it because as a bootstrapped team we couldn't afford Linear or Asana — then gave it away. No AI, no premium tier, we cover the hosting.

Asaan Kisaan

An offline-first AI assistant for farmers. Speech-to-text plus on-device computer vision for real-time crop disease diagnosis in areas with no signal. Custom MobileNetV3-Small at 1.6 MB, 8.9ms inference — roughly a 12× speedup on edge hardware. Became the basis of my first paper.

Generative AI

Story2Storyboard

A training-free framework that stops AI storyboards re-casting the protagonist every frame. Auto-regressive visual prompting with IP-Adapters; the anchor frame conditions the cross-attention of everything that follows. +15.3% visual consistency over SDXL-Turbo baselines on VinaBench.

Generative AI · 3D

OrbitBuild

Turns site photographs and project briefs into cinematic marketing renders and interactive 3D building previews, for architects and builders who need to show a thing before it exists.

Accessibility

See with Me

A visual AI companion for the visually impaired, built to help with everyday navigation. Runner-up at Vyrothon out of 500+ participants.

Baba Baithak

A fast food venture I co-owned at 19. I ran strategy, branding and daily operations, designed the entire visual identity, and grew monthly sales 20% in six months doing all the marketing myself. It's the reason TezAds exists — I was the customer first.
